Welcome!

Welcome to my new blog! I’ve started this to keep in touch with family and friends, including our China travel mates and other wonderful people I met while waiting for Ella. On April 22nd last year we landed at O’Hare and after 3 ½ years, Ella was finally home. The journey to Ella was complete and a new journey had begun. This is about life with Ella and what we’re learning along the way.

I’ve been planning on starting a new blog for months but life has been very busy! So what motivated me to finally start this after being home with Ella for 9 ½ months? My Ella was matched with me by my agency from the China Center of Adoption Affairs’ shared list and she has a brachial plexus injury (BPI). In the past few months I’ve had contact with several people on adoption forums who’ve either adopted a child from China with BPI or are considering adopting a child with BPI. I know of 2 little boys in China with BPI that are available for adoption right now. So, I wanted to be able to share a bit of this experience with others. Ella is having surgery in less than two weeks so I figured this would be a good time to start.
